Current Title Rankings(See What Belt You Can Compete For)

....I still want to compete for the Big Dog title...

I think the big dog should have us compete in a tourney.

It's the best alternative because it leaves everyone with chances to win the title.

A belt only 4 people can contend for? I doubt any GM approved these number ranges..if we made a belt for the 4 lowest guys in rankings whats the incentive to increase their ratings? sounds backwards to me

Yeah, those ranges would be....problematic.

Although, if I lose enough matches, I might be able to get under 20k. Real wrestlers will cut weight before a match, this would be basically the same thing. If I take the belt and suddenly explode back up to 27k+, do I have to give it back?

Not under 30000 because it's a low tier belt...but under 25000 should be ok.

The thing is, is that this is what was suggested. I cant help the fact that everyone posted on the ranges. I was going to change it but i had to be approved. And if you do indeed look, there is a guy who has a ranking with the middle weight belt thats higher than the current heavyweight champion and is ranked either 3 or 4th in line for the heavy weight champion. Maybe the belts would all have to be put up for change. That or the rankings in each class should be based on fans and stats for matches. I will talk to tremere and see if that would work out. Fans determine your rank for each belt while your score would determine which belt your would be best contending for.

My understanding was that the reason for using wrestler score alone was that simple was good. It's only one number, and the game already displays our entire roster sorted by score. Can't get any simpler than that.

Personally, I'd suggest that we start simple. Then, if people want to add to the system, fine. That'd give two advantages, you'd already have something to build on, and it will buy some time to iron out any changes.

Not sure we should use fans to decide who gets title shots. Seems it'd be better to choose active players that'll put on a good show.

I agree with that too, All i did was put the belt contentions the way it was posted.

Problem with going by fans is you don't need to make ANY effort to get more.. if JBT puts 2 non-active guys in a match they'll get fans,now THEY did no work (jbt did as usual) .. Also most fans doesnt equal most deserving.. not sure there is ANY system that make everyone happy.. For now since admin has posted nothing about the title or how they want to handle it i'd say give them some time to sort it ,tremere has bigger concerns right now until vik/tullo and whoever else makes some sort of decision.

i have messaged tremere and waiting on a respose from him. we will know what the current system will be as soon as he responds and ill will change it accordingly.

I was also thinking that the ranges be within 22000 and below and go up and be based on the ceiling guys or fluctuate to the bottom 15 guys. what would you think to that with the top 5 guys tettering on challenges based on admin approval?

That just gos to show you how the average point stats of the members can change that quickly. We had a lot more under 20k when this was first brought up. Now it's a different ballgame. Perhaps the contention ranges will just have to fluctuate as the members change and they get further up the ladder. Plus if you are newer to the game, it's usually easier to move up that ladder.

BD Championship: 0 - 24500
KOTY Championship: 24500 - 33500
POW Championship: 30000 - ?

That's my latest brainstorm.

Do we need a minimum for the belts? I think if we left the bottom open, it'd work out the same. Not sure it's any 'better' without, just one less thing to decide.

The other thing is, do we want a maximum score for belts? There's at least three ways we can do this, all based off score.

BD - Under 24.5k

BD - Below 30th place
BD - Bottom 20 wrestlers (slight alt of above)

BD - Bottom 40% of roster

The top is probably the simplest, the bottom the most flexible, and the middle in between on both. Just throwing out some thoughts.
Oh, and those numbers are just examples, NOT suggestions.
